AltoLab and Mountaineering
Alpamayo, Peru - The most beautiful mountain in the world.

The first use of IHT and altitude training was practiced in 1939 by the Russian
air force to adapt their pilots to flying at extreme altitudes above 15,000 ft
without supplemental oxygen or pressurized suits. They discovered that short
exposures equal to 15,000 ft for only 5 min repeated 3-4 times were sufficient
to get their pilots acclimated. In contrast, if traditional altitude training using live
above 15,000 ft. This information is vital to know for those who are hoping to
make mountaineering ascents above these altitudes.
.
With AltoLab you prepare for mountain climbing at high altitudes while at
home, anywhere in the world. When preparing for these ascents it is vital to
use a protocol that goes beyond the initial 15 day load that are used for regular
sea-level events. For these climbs we recommend doing at least 2-3 extra
5-day top-ups prior to leaving for your climb. We have had tremendous
success getting our customers living in New York City, Los Angeles, Chicago
and Miami to complete summits to Kilimanjaro (19,700 ft) Aconcagua (22,000
ft) Denali (19,700 ft) and Himalyan peaks (+18,000 ft). In fact, we also helped h
Simon Maister (shown on left) finish the Everest Marathon when he used
AltoLab from his sea level home in New Zealand. For more help in preparing
